I spent my career running two tracks at once: strategic program facilitation, and intel officer in the US Army Reserves. From marketing executive to growth advisor, if I could do the job, I did the job, and up the ladder I went.
Career quakes didn't check which track I was on before they hit. Every time, I did what I'd always done: took stock of what I could carry, and carried it up, up up. It never occurred to me to ask whether I should.
I teach people to ask that question now. I call it claiming Lived Authority: the ability to recognize your own accumulated experience as legitimate authority for directing your own life, without needing someone else to keep certifying it. I built the Wildflower Assessment to prove the pattern isn't just mine, a 250+ woman-veteran dataset mapping how we carry, decide, and cultivate. Today that work runs through Mission Ambition, LLC, where I'm founder, and Mission Wildflower
, where I'm publisher. I advise government agencies and defense-sector initiatives, host Hardcore and At Ease, and co-host Veterans Radio.The Civilian Professional
